Larimer County adds 56 virus cases
Cumulative total hits 3,930 since March
Larimer County reported 56 new confirmed coronavirus cases Wednesday for a cumulative total of 3,930 since March.
The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment’s website offers a daily tally of cases, deaths, outbreaks and risk factors, based on numbers from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
The county’s risk rating on Wednesday was ranked high.
And for the first time since launching an online coronavirus risk dashboard in June, Larimer County’s positivity rating exceeded 5%. The dashboard listed a twoweek percent positivity of 5.4%.
However, Katie O’donnell, spokeswoman for the Health
Department, explained that the number was misleading.
“We had a high positivity rate on Monday because the state is behind on reporting,” said O’donnell. “It likely will drop to lower than that. If you look at positivity by date, Monday is 15%. It’s making our average high.”
Of the 56 new confirmed cases, 38 are Fort Collins residents, 12 are Loveland residents, two are from Berthoud and one each are from Johnstown, Windsor and Laporte. The hometown of the final case still is being investigated.
Two of the cases are children, a 9-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl, both from Loveland, and the oldest is an 81-year-old Loveland man. Of the rest of the cases, 30 range from ages 18 to 29, and the rest fall across all ages from 30 to 60.
Larimer County also tracks suspect cases, which are people who tested positive via an antibody test but did not have symptoms. That number remained unchanged at 497 on Wednesday.
Also unchanged were the number of deaths since March, 57, and the number of outbreaks, 69. Of the outbreaks, 18 are active and 51 are resolved.
