Aste knows what it’s like to be a regular citizen

-

Why I love Ben Aste. Don’t tell Sandy.

I have watched Ben Aste from the ver y beginning of his campaign grow in his confidence as a candidate. He has worked so hard to get to the position he is in now.

I love the way he has learned how to put himself out in front of the public. I love how he will work on a street corner waving a sign for himself. I love how he has studied the issues like the intergovernmental agreement in Estes Park and water concerns throughout Larimer County. I love how he will walk neighborhoods, meet with different groups to explain his position, hold Zoom meetings to achieve his goal so he can represent you to the best of his ability. And what I love most is that he is a business man, not a politician. He knows what it is like to have payroll issues, worker’s compensation responsibilities and property taxes.

Ben Aste knows what it is like to be a regular citizen like you and me. He is willing to give of his time as a commissioner to better our lives.

Vote for Ben Aste for county commissioner for District 3! under a National Popular Vote.

That’s just plain and demonstratively wrong. Under the current system, presidential candidates only care about and campaign in closely competitive “swing” states. Colorado is simply not one of those anymore. The candidates realize this and are acting accordingly. There have been over 100 general election campaign events by the presidential or vice-presidential candidates this fall, and exactly zero have been in Colorado or 36 other states. We are simply being ignored.

Under a National Popular Vote, the candidates would have to care about the entire countr y, not just a dozen competitive swing states. Presidents represent our entire countr y, and they should actually tr y to win votes from across the countr y, including Colorado. Voters in Colorado should reject the obvious falsehoods in opposition letters and vote yes on Proposition 113.
