Coroner releases identity of skateboard­er killed in crash

The Larimer County Coroner has identified 21-year-old Presiliano Maez from Fort Collins as the skateboard rider who died in a vehicle collision in For t Collins Wednesday.

According to a release from the coroner’s office, the manner of death was an accident and the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries.

According to a previous press release from Fort Collins Police Ser vices, at 8:22 p.m. Wednesday, officers were notified of a collision between a man on a skateboard and a vehicle near Constituti­on Avenue and West Elizabeth Street, an intersecti­on near a student apar tment complex west of the Colorado State University campus.

When officers arrived, they found Maez in the road. He was transporte­d to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.

According to another press release published Friday, through forensic analysis of the vehicles, police believe all vehicles involved in the collision are accounted. While the investigat­ion is ongoing, officers are no longer investigat­ion the collision as a hit-and-run, the release stated.
