Denver man arrested with loaded gun, suspected meth

The Loveland Police Department arrested a Denver man Friday morning after he allegedly eluded police in a stolen car; the man was in possession of a loaded revolver and 61 grams of suspected meth.

According to a release from the LPD, Ryan Donald Yearwood, 29, was arrested on suspicion of multiple felony charges including vehicle theft and drug offenses after eluding police following an attempted traffic stop. He was taken into custody at around 4 a.m. after he ran from his vehicle in a hotel parking lot in Johnstown.

Following his arrest, officers found 61 grams of suspected meth as well as a loaded revolver in Yearwood’s backpack.

He was transporte­d to the Larimer County Jail and was booked on charges of first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, a class 5 felony; vehicular eluding, a class 5 felony; resisting arrest, a class 2 misdemeano­r; possession of meth with intent to distribute, a class 2 felony; and controlled substance as a special offender, a class 1 felony. Yearwood was also wanted on two outstandin­g warrants, one of which was for a felony.

No court date had been set for Yearwood as of 4 p.m. Friday.
