Army vs. Marines 13
Sparta Sports & Entertainment will present Army vs. Marines 13 at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at the Budweiser Events Center at The Ranch, 5290 Arena Circle.
Warriors will battle in boxing, kickboxing and mixed martial arts, all in one night!

Branden & James
Loveland Performing Arts will present classical-pop vocal duo Branden & James, making a stop on their “From Bach To Bieber” tour, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Thompson Valley High School, 1669 Eagle Drive.
Branden James and James Clark will present music by Leonard Cohen, Elton John, Les Miserables, Cole Porter, The Eagles, Phantom of The Opera, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and more.

Be the Gift
Be the Gift is asking people to nominate a single mom for home repair assistance.
The local nonprofit organization is devoted to enhancing and securing family stability through home repair assistance for widows and single mother homeowners and their children by engaging the community in improving the lives of these families.
Anyone in the community can nominate someone, request assistance for yourself or sign up to volunteer on project workdays in May.

Garden Club Plant Sale
Loveland Garden Club’s annual Plant Sale will take place at 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the Farmers Market at Jax West, 2665 W. Eisenhower Blvd.
In preparation for Mother’s Day and spring planting, the Loveland
Garden Club is offering one-of-akind, ready-to-go planters, perennials, annuals, herbs, veggies and over 50 varieties of home-grown tomato plants. Other farmers market vendors will be selling locally made and grown items and fresh baked goods.
The net proceeds of the club’s plant sale will fund horticultural scholarships, support for other horticultural nonprofits and related community projects.
Knowledgeable volunteers will be available to answer gardening and plant questions.
Plants available for sale by cash or check only.

PEO-FL Flower Sale
Orders will be taken through May 6 for the annual PEO-FL Flower Sale.
Hanging baskets, flowering pots, grasses, tomatoes and individual plants are available.
The flower sale raises funds for educational scholarships for deserving women in the Loveland area.

Drug Take Back Day
Loveland Police Department, 810 E. 10th St., will help residents safely dispose of unused and expired prescription medications during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 30.
The event is in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration and is free to the public with no questions asked.
The focus is on medications, and the police cannot accept needles and sharps, mercury (thermometers), oxygen containers, chemotherapy/ radioactive substances, pressurized canisters or illicit drugs.
Drug Take Back Day will also take place April 30 at 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Windsor Police Department, 200 N. 11th St.
For those who cannot attend, the FDA provides information on how to properly dispose of prescription drugs. Visit fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/where-and-how-dispose-unused-medicines.

Garden Poetry Workshop
Loveland poet/gardener Lynn Kincanon will lead a Garden Inspired Poetry Workshop at 1-3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Wildfire Community Arts Center, 425 Massachusetts Ave.
Gardeners and poets are welcome to attend the poetry workshop for ages 14-plus to celebrate National Poetry Month and National Gardening Month.
Kincanon will lead those attending to explore a variety of nature poems, providing photos and prompts for participants to write poetry during class. Bring lines from a favorite poem to share.

The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra Guild will take orders through May 2 in its Symphony of Spring fundraiser.
Sun and shade hanging baskets and petunias, tomatoes, basil, jalapeños and cilantro are available.
Commercial orders will be delivered to businesses Friday, May 13.
Residential orders can be picked up at noon-6 p.m. Friday, May 13, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 3-6 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1800 21st Ave., east entrance.
