Seventh-day Adventist Church offers Gutenberg Press exhibit

-

The Enduring Word, a nondenominational traveling exhibit featuring a replica of the Gutenberg Press, will be at Campion Seventh-day Adventist Church, 300 42nd St. SW, Loveland, Tuesday, Oct. 25 through Saturday, Oct. 28.

A full-size working model of the Gutenberg press, like that used to print the first-ever Bible done with movable type, will be on display along with a collection of historical Bible and other artifacts.

The invention of the movable type press changed history. “Perhaps it was more important in its day than the cellphone is today,” said Pastor Leandro Bizama, one of the exhibit’s sponsors in Loveland. The exhibit teaches the history of written communication and how the printed word came into existence.

The exhibit will be open to school classes, homeschoolers, civic groups and other interested groups from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. each day, and open to the public from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each evening Tuesday through Friday. On Saturday, Oct. 28, it will be open to all at 1-4 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. The event is free to all. For details, call 970-6677403.
