Who are Republicans in Congress serving?

Mass shootings are occurring at an alarming rate, and a large majority of Americans want something done about it. Instead of supporting sensible gun laws, all we hear from Republicans are crickets.

The American economy under President Biden is creating jobs by the hundreds of thousands and getting stronger by the week, but Republicans suddenly worry about the debt ceiling that didn’t concern them under Trump.

Americans want to know whether Trump and his allies committed crimes on Jan. 6. Meanwhile, Republicans appoint Jan. 6 defenders to key Congressional committees.

Racism has reared its ugly head across our country in recent years, but Republicans would rather rail against critical race theory and forbid discussions of our racist past in schools.

Americans want common sense, comprehensive immigration policies to address issues that force people to flee their homes for a better life in America. Republicans want to talk fentanyl and complain about nonexistent open borders.

Americans want free, fair and open elections, while making voting as easy as possible for all legal voters. Republicans want to gerrymander, discourage many from voting at all, and make unproven claims about stolen elections.

Americans want protections from dangerous accidents involving toxic materials as just occurred in Ohio. Republicans want to complain about government regulations that strive to avoid them.

Americans want our nation to lead the world’s efforts to slow effects of climate change, which science has proven beyond all reasonable doubt to be real. They want our government to address issues that affect so many in our daily lives. Republicans want us to worry about who can marry whom and which books should be banned in public schools and libraries. In all of history the good guys have never banned books.

Which begs the question, exactly who are Republicans in Congress serving?
