Council has become a royal court, with queen and jesters
It is a sad time for the city of Loveland! Mayor Marsh filibusters her time in new business to rescind Centerra South, cuts off Councilor Foley to call on one of her minions and then demands a vote. I want to hear all points of view, not pontificating by one individual and shuttering of others.
Councilor Krenning disrespectfully speaks over the city attorney and demands a yes or no answer. Council meetings are not a court of law, and staff should be allowed to speak freely. The mayor and councilors draw an income from the city and are covered by liability insurance provided by the city. The mayor and councilors have contact with the public, seniors and children. What makes Krenning more special than any other employee with regard to background checks? Krenning should submit a complete background check form, sign and certify all information is correct. The city has a responsibility to vet all those who represent the city.
In the council meeting of Nov. 21, Mayor Marsh and Councilor Krenning have shown narcissistic, vindictive and bullying behavior.
The mayor is putting the city into legal action on Centerra South that will most likely reach into the millions for outside legal and staff time. If you believe the budget is fine without the food tax, wait to see the many millions the city will pay for breach of contract, lost revenue and future profits.
Now, the mayor wants to remove the city manager and city attorney from the dais to apparently show her superiority to staff.
This is not a monarchy, and Mayor Marsh is not queen, even though it appears she has her court jesters voting with her.
