Chetes’ ’79 Ford Thunderbird convertible
Take a good look at this rare ’79 Ford Thunderbird because it’s one of only 1,000 custom coach-built convertibles created by American Custom Coachworks. As rare as it is, this one got a new lease on life as a lowrider, but the build and transferring of ownership is a story that is built on dedication and a gentleman’s agreement.
Built by Rudy Paredes and now owned by his nephew, Chetes, this lowrider was introduced in 2007 at the Super Show and 10 years later given to Chetes as a present for graduating high school. It’s an epic build that will continue to stay in the family and yet another great example of how lowriding is a family affair that is passed from one generation to the next.
