Malvern Daily Record

A busy month for the MSC

-

The month of August is going to be a busy one for the CADC Malvern Senior Center! We will be handing out Senior Commodities (ages 60 and up) on Friday August 6 and Monday August 9 from 8AM until 3 PM or until supplies are gone. This is a drive thru service for seniors that meet income guidelines. You can call the center to see if you qualify or drive thru the day of the hand outs and we can sign you up on the spot if you qualify. The center will be closed to participants on August 5, 6 and 9th while we work commodities. Our drive thru lunch service will be available on those days so that our seniors can still receive a delicious meal all through the week.

We will be handing out Quarterly commodities on Thursday August 19 and Friday August 20 for those that are 18 and older and meet income guidelines. Remember there is only one per household allowed on this food distribution and photo ID’s are required just the same as our senior commodities.

We will also hand these out in the drive thru fashion from 8-3 both days or until supplies are gone.

As always we appreciate everyone making room for the food boxes prior to getting into line and note that our facility is a completely nonsmoking work place. Please do not smoke while in our parking lot and especially while we are loading your food boxes. If you have not had your Covid vaccination we request that you wear a mask while we are serving you. This is for your protection and the protection of our staff and volunteers that are assisting with the food distributions.

The center will be open Monday – Friday from 8AM until 2PM on the days we are normally open. To pick up a full calendar of events and menu please come by the center during our normal working hours.

Remember we offer great food, entertainment, activities, pool tables, computers, books and magazines and an exercise room to all of our members during normal working hours. All seniors (60 and older) in our area are welcome and encouraged to join in on the fun. We have a very large and well maintained facility that allows for social distancing and safe recreation. We ask for a $3 donation for the meals served in or dining hall from 1112 each day and charge $4 for takeout meals from our members. Nonmembers can receive a meal for $6 each and should be accompanied by members.

Please come and see what you are missing if you are 60 or older and live in our area. You will be pleasantly surprised at what is offered to our senior community. Membership is free and we promise to treat you with the respect you deserve.

First responders are always welcome to join us and the meal is on us as a token of our gratitude for your service to this community.

For question or to set up a free tour of the CADC Malvern Senior Center just come by 1800 W. Moline Street in Malvern or phone 501-332-5374.
