Billy Holland Harrison

Billy Holland Harrison, age 84, of Magnet Cove, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2021. He was born January 26, 1937, in Star City, Arkansas to the late William Branson Harrison and Arah Alice (Owens) Harrison.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Velma ‘Sis’ Harrison, two babies; R.D. Harrison and Travis Harrison, four brothers; Harold Harrison, A.C. Harrison, Roland Harrison, Charles Harrison and five sisters; Annie Marie Austin, Arminta Reeves, Parelee Bradshaw, Bonnie Blasengame, and Louise McCoy.

Billy is survived by his son; Denver (Claudette) Harrison and daughter; Holly (James) McCune, his grandchild­ren; Joshua Harrison, Casey Harrison, Dustin Harrison, Nathaniel McCune, Hannah McCune Robinson, his brother; Ray Harrison and sister; Shirley Harrison.

Before his retirement, Billy worked as a Supervisor with Scapa Industries in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Billy and Velma loved music, and for their love of music it led to them helping to start a church in Sims, Arkansas, Sims Baptist Church, where Velma played the Piano and Billy led singing.

He was a loving father, grandfathe­r, and brother. Billy was a proud member of the Third Baptist Church in Malvern and loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family.

Visitation and services will be Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 10:00-11:00 am and services starting at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Star City, Arkansas.

Pallbearer­s will be Dustin Harrison, Nathaniel McCune, Joshua Harrison, Casey Harrison and Daniel Robinson and Caleb Rogers.
