MHS soccer teams fall in conf. play at Hope
LEOPARDS’ JESUS RODEA SCORES LONE GOAL TO SPARK FOR MALVERN
HOPE — In their return to conference senior high boys and girls soccer competition Friday, the hometown Malvern Leopards and Lady Leopards brought their competitive play to Hope for two intense contests in league action at Hammons Stadium. Malvern competed hard in both 80 minute
contests, but unfortunately the Hope swept victories against the visiting hometown performers Friday in their league match-ups. The Lady Leopards fell to the Hope Ladycats 8-0, while in the nightcap, the Leopards sparked for one goal scored by Jesus Rodea and fell in defeat to the Hope Bobcats 6-1.
Malvern soccer head coach Seth Roberts thought both of the Leopards and Lady Leopards showcased competitive play in their execution against Hope. Malvern provided key spurts throughout their
“Both teams had a rough first half but turned it around in the second half,” Roberts said. “I was proud of how we never gave up and played hard until the final whistle. It shows a lot of heart and pride to play hard when you fall behind and we did just that.”
UP NEXT
The Leopards and Lady Leopards are set for action in conference play today hosting Robinson then Mena Friday at Claude Mann Stadium on David Alpe Field.
Roberts noted that he is looking forward to these two games this week and honoring the seniors on senior night Friday.
