Lions put down Knights 14-1

CENTERPOIN­T — The Bismarck Lions roared with an impressive team victory Friday and shut down the Centerpoin­t Knights 14-1 in a five inning contest for conference baseball competitio­n. The Lions’ sparked with a two run inning in the top of the first, then made some breathing room with an 11 run inning in the second to lead Centerpoin­t 13-0. Bismarck added one run in the top of the fifth, despite the Knights tallying their lone run in the bottom of the fifth to fall to the Lions.

Bimarck’s Barrett Schultz, Grady Howell and Ben Keithley led the offensive execution with two hits apiece in the frame. Ian Smith, Braden Efird, Caleb Schultz, Dane Stephenson and Kalem Rorie each had a hit apiece. Keithley drove in three runs for three RBIS, Barrett Schultz, Howell, and Caleb Schultz each had two Rbis—efird collected one RBI to spark the Lion offense. Smith led the scoring attack with three runs in Bismarck’s 13-run victory against the Knights.

On the mound, Barrett Schultz pitched a complete game to earn the victory, allowed three hits, one earned run and struck out eight batters and threw 58 strikes.

Bismarck finishes up conference play this week facing Ashdown and Fouke.
