Malvern concludes conf. series match-up at Bauxite

LADY LEOPARDS’ WIN STREAK SNAPPED IN LOSS TO LADY MINERS 12-2

Bauxite—thehometow­nmalvern Lady Leopards had their streak of wins snapped in a conference series finale match-up

against Bauxite 12-2 Tu e s - day. The Lady Leopards hung tough and competitiv­e early through the second inning with a tied ball game at 2-2. But, the Lady Miners fed off their home field advantage to spark in the third inning and scored three runs, then routed one run in the fourth—putting the game away with a six-run sixth inning to sweep their league series meeting against Malvern in five innings of softball competitio­n. Malvern tallied two runs on five hits while Bauxite sparked for double-digits of offensive execution of 12 runs on 12 hits.

The Lady Leopards’ Emily Minge led the offensive execution in the frame with two hits, Katelyn Minge, Lauren “LG” Golden and Josie Nix each collected a hit apiece.

The Minge duo of Katelyn and Em- ily Minge scored a run apiece— while Nix and Isabella Roseberry drove in the key runs with an RBI apiece. In the pitcher’s circle, Audrey Carr and Katelyn Minge provided some heat against the Miners. Carr struck out three batters and threw 39 strikes while facing 19 batters in three innings of work. Katelyn Minge pitched one and two-thirds innings, allowed three hits, six runs, no earned runs and threw 29 strikes.

The hometown Lady Leopards are set to close out league play Friday hosting Hope in a bounce back performanc­e on senior night to shine for the hometown Leopard Country fans of the diamond.
