Lions capture fifth place at district

ASHDOWN — The Bismarck Lions senior high tracksters roared in the fast lanes and displayed their abilities of techniques in field events Tuesday at the 3A-7 District meet hosted in Ashdown. The Lions finished fifth place overall and racked up 24 points from their production of competing in a variety of running and field events.

The Lions are under the direction of senior high boys head track coach Mark Hamby.

The following are results of the Lions competing at the district track meet in Ashdown.

LIONS SR. HIGH DISTRICT MEET RESULTS

RUNNING EVENTS

In the 110 meter hurdles— Colin Jones finished with a time of 21.52

In the 300 meter hurdles— Johnny Diaz finished ninth with a time o 47.1 and Colin Jones finished with a time of 56.52

In the 100 meter dash— Gavin Urban finished with a time of 12.1, Joseph Roberson finished with a time of 12.22, Johnny Diaz finished with a time of 12.43, and Wilver Ramirez finished with a time of 13.81

In the 200 meter dash— Joseph Roberson finished with a time of 24.88, Gavin Urban finished with a time of 25.36 and Wilver Ramirez finished with a time of 29.04

In the 400 meter dash— Ben Keithley finished ninth with a time of 56.87

In the 800 meter dash— Joseph Porter placed fifth with a time of 2:19, Christian Leon finished ninth with a time of 2:26 and Gabe Digiacomo finished with a time of 2:37

In the 1600 meter run— Joseph Porter placed fourth with a time of 5:14 and Gabe Digiacomo finished with a time of 5:51

In the 3200 meter run— Christian Leon placed fifth with a time of 12:22

In the 4x100 meter relay— Ben Keithley, Johnny Diaz, Joseph Roberson and Gavin Urban placed third with a time of 47.07

In the 4x400 meter relay— Ben Keithley, Johnny Diaz, Joseph Porter and Gavin Urban placed sixth with a time of 3:58

FIELD EVENTS

In the Long Jump— Gavin Urban placed seventh with a jump of 17’10’’
