Malvern Middle School ELA Teacher, Claudine James, was the keynote speaker at the Arkansas Association of Instructional Media ( AAIM) Conference held on April 24- 26 at the Little Rock Marriott. AAIM is an affiliate of the American Association of School Librarians ( AASL) and the International Society for Technology in Education ( ISTE).

AASL is the “only national professional membership organization focused on school librarians and the school library community”. ISTE’S vision is “that all educators are empowered to harness technology to accelerate innovation in teaching and learning, and inspire learning to reach their greatest potential.”

When presenting James, current AAIM president, Tana Sanders, stated, “I am excited to introduce Claudine James, who will be joining us as a Keynote Speaker for the AAIM 2022 Annual Conference. Claudine teaches at Malvern Schools, and is a winner of the Honored National Teaching Award, the Henry Ford Innovative Teaching Award, the National Sanford Teacher Award, and is also a National Board Certified Teacher. I first found Claudine on TikTok, and was impressed with her videos as well as her story and how it fit with our conference theme, Explore and Evolve. Claudine was struggling to keep her students engaged with quarantines and COVID; she knew she had to change how she was teaching in order to engage students virtually. So, in December of 2020, Claudine took her classroom to Tiktok. She has presented numerous lessons through Tiktok and has amassed a following beyond her classroom.”
