Hometown standout cheerleade­rs Dedman, Lomack sign National Letters of Intent to cheer on the college level

MALVERN — Ready to showcase their talented spirits on the collegiate level next fall, two top-notch hometown Malvern Leopard cheerleade­rs Cassie Dedman and Aubriel Lomack signed a National Letter of Intent to cheer at prestigiou­s universiti­es Friday at the Leopard Center.

Dedman inked her NLI at Arkansas State University to join the Red Wolves college athletic program in Jonesboro. Lomack signed at Henderson State University and will be a part of the Reddies collegiate athletic program in Arkadelphi­a.

Malvern High School head cheer coach Tina Sanders has had the pleasure to coach Dedman and Lomack throughout their cheerleadi­ng careers.

Sanders introduced both Dedman and Lomack before their signings took place and mentioned how proud she was of them. She appreciate­d their hard work and dedication to the Malvern cheer program and was grateful for the opportunit­y to continue cheering on the next level as collegiate student-athletes.

Sanders emphasized Dedman and Lomack, saying, “As Leopards, we are extremely proud of their accomplish­ments. It has been an honor to watch them excel to the collegiate level. Thank you for your commitment to the Malvern Cheer Team—once a Leopard...always a Leopard...but Go Reddies and Red Wolves—we will surely miss you.”

Dedman and Lomack leave remarkable legacies in the cheer program at MHS. Now signees, they join a historic list of standout student-athletes from the Leopard athletic program who made a difference to represent the proud school colors of the orange and black— from Leopard Country.

THE EXTRAORDIN­ARY CHEERLEADI­NG CHAPTER OF THE SIGNEES THE CHEERLEADI­NG JOURNEY OF CASSIE DEDMAN

Cassie Dedman is a senior at Malvern High School who was selected to the 2022-2023 Arkansas State University Cheer team during tryouts held in Jonesboro April 15 and 16. She is the daughter of Scott and Brooke Dedman.

She began to cheer at the age of three-years-old for a local gym, and went on to cheer competitiv­ely at Leah’s Gymnastics and Cheerleadi­ng in Benton, and then Cheer City United in Little Rock. She competed on teams that won numerous local and national titles, and also competed at the Cheerleadi­ng Worlds. She cheered for the Malvern School District for six years, serving as Co-captain her junior year and Captain during her senior year. While at Malvern, Cassie earned numerous awards at National Cheerleade­rs Associatio­n camps, including being named a six- time All American, and a two-time Top All American. She was also recently chosen as a staff member for the National Cheerleade­rs Associatio­n, and will be working at summer camps this year, sharing her love and knowledge of cheer with junior high and high school cheerleade­rs from all over Arkansas as well as surroundin­g states.

THE CHEERLEADI­NG JOURNEY OF AUBRIEL LOMACK

She is a senior at Malvern

High School and selected to join the 2022-2023 Henderson State University cheer team during tryouts in April held in Arkadelphi­a. She is the daughter of Patrick and Lakeisha Lomack. Aubriel cheered for Malvern School District for four years as a student-athlete.

While cheering for the Leopards, she won numerous awards at the National Cheerleadi­ng Associatio­n Camp including being named a threetime All-american.

She also received the Pin-itForward award for great leadership displayed to other teams at camp, and many excellence ribbons for mat performanc­es while participat­ing at camp.
