Why I want to be your Sheriff? Since I graduated high school I’ve helped people.
That’s what I do, I help people in my public service. I believe as sheriff I could help more people and have more of an impact on our county. Another reason is to make our county safer for our kids and grandkids.
I would like to share with you my experience.
30 yrs of Public Service- 1992 started as a Vol. Firefighter/first Responder
28 yrs Emt/paramedic – 1994 to Present Baptist Ambulance Service and Promed.
24 yrs Law Enforcement – 1998 to present Ouachita Township Constable, 16 yrs Donaldson Police Chief, 4 yrs HSC Sheriff, 2 yrs Friendship Police Chief, 2 yrs Part Time Deputy at CCSO.
22 yrs Management Role- 18 yrs Police Chief, 4 yrs HSC Sheriff, 4 yrs Supervisor/ Manager Baptist Health Ambulance Service, 2 yrs HSC Coroner
8 yrs management experience with over 30 employees and a 2.5 million Dollar budget. Specific experience in Grants Federal and state.
My primary focus as your Sheriff will be, Violent Crime, unsolved murders, illegal Drug activity, burglary’s, property theft.
How we manage the above is with proactive law enforcement, community policing, targeting high drug and criminal activity areas with traffic stops, set up more neighborhood watch groups in each community, to educate the public. Have deputies get familiar with the people that live in the area they patrol. Work closely with faith based organizations to help with addictions and stop the revolving door of the same offenders that keep repeating crimes.
When I was sheriff in the past, we had great working relations with other Law Enforcement agencies, both State and local. We will use all available resources especially in emergencies and major crimes. State Police CID have tons of resources. We will work closely with fire departments and fix communications so we can all talk to each other on the radios. Revitalize the Reserve program and utilize them when needed. Use Constables as needed.
I would work closely with the quorum court to try and build a larger jail and get more deputies on the road.
I am a strong supporter of the Constitution and will protect your rights and the 2nd amendment to the fullest. My Office will be transparent. We will purchase body cams.
Achievements from the last time I was in office include: Helped to start some neighborhood watch groups, certified to set up watch groups, Project Lifesaver, purchased Tasers and AR-15S. We established Video court, had a surplus Paid in our for budget, by created policy manuals, and in 2007 we busted over 25 meth labs and worked over 100 felony drug cases, 2011 investigated 121 drug cas-es, seized over $30,000 in cash, vehicles, and guns, returned over $300,000 in restitution and stolen property to victims . 10,050 people booked into the jail, 384 arrest warrants served, and 22 search warrants executed.
