JACKSONVILLE — The Roll Tribe effect took its hardwood spark to Jacksonville Thursday as the Tribe hoopsters of Poyen won two of three conference match-ups against Jacksonville Lighthouse for junior and senior high basketball action.
The Jr. Indians tipped off the night with a stout road victory against the Jacksonville LH Jr. Wolves 51-23. Jr. Indians’ Slayde Jones displayed the firepower and poured in 20 points as the top-performer of the contest in double-figures. Colt Barrett followed with a strong eight point performance, Kaden Townley and Bryce Samples each sparked with six points apiece and Walker Smith sinked in five points.
Kaden Rushing contributed two points and Gage Brewer chipped in a point from the charity stripe. The Jr. Indians improved to 15-1 overall. In senior high hoops, the Lady Indians picked up a convincing victory over the Jacksonville LH Lady Wolves 58-42 and swept their conference season match-ups.
Rachel Ellison led the surge and ignited 23 points for double-figures.
The Indians brought a competitive spark but lost a close heartbreaking defeat to the Jacksonville LH Wolves, 51-48. For the game, Indian hoopsters Brayden Hull and Cody Samples poured in 15 points apiece for double-figures to lead the Tribe in their execution on the hardwood.
