Keeping faith intact

Keeping Faith Intact “Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle” (2 Thessalonians 2:15).

“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown” (Revelation 3:11).

In good times when your faith seems strong and your heart is filled with love and gratitude, the above cautions to hold fast are taken lightly and don’t seem to apply to you, but in a world gone awry that picture can change quickly.

When disaster looms, when friends betray you, you’ve lost loved ones to the grim reaper, or experienced financial setbacks and have no means of paying your mortgage, when dark angry clouds hang over your head and you can see no light at the end of the tunnel, you may be tempted to ask, where did God go, why God, did you allow this to happen to me? It’s the age-old question, which has caused many Christian to lose their faith, why does a good God allow bad things to happen to good people?

In the darkness of trials and tribulations we often forget that

God allowed bad things, as horrible as to defy the imagination, to happen to His only Son. This side of heaven we may never get our many “why” questions answered, but, looking back, if we could see the future as God sees it, we wouldn’t want to change anything.

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Why this article? To be forewarned is to be forearmed. It is important to understand when you accept Christ, the salvation He offers doesn’t come with a guarantee that ever-after you will be shielded from anything bad happening. However, it does come with a written guarantee that whatever happens, He will be with you, and it will work for your good in the long run. To see a copy of the guarantee, read Isaiah 43:2; Romans 8:28.

It is through suffering, trials, and tribulations that faith grows to the point of invincibility, making it impossible for Satan to pluck you out of the Father’s hands (John 10:29).

A genuine faith is not about getting prayers answered, it’s about total commitment to His will whatever happens.
