Jordan Bedding & Furniture Gallery is a unique, family-owned handmade mattress and furnishing company located at 4735 Malvern Ave. in Hot Springs.
“We do handcraft all our own mattresses,” Ryan Callender, sales manager, said. “We actually make all our mattresses in-house.”
The business was first established in Little Rock 1958 by Buddy and Naomi Jordan and has been serving its satisfied customers across central Arkansas for three generations.
Buddy got his business off the ground by making mattresses in his own garage until he made a name for himself and was able to open the Little Rock store. In 1981, Buddy’s son, Robin, opened a factory store in Hot Springs.
Robin and his wife, Shanna, currently oversee the operation, with their daughter, Rachel, and son-in-law Ryan assisting them on the sales floor and in the factory. They specialize in handcrafted mattresses and also have a fully-stocked furniture gallery of living- and bedroom furniture from high-end brands.
Jordan Bedding can also make custom size mattresses for campers, houseboats or special size beds.
“We do make a two-sided inner spring, so you’re able to flip it over, which is something you don’t really see anywhere else, anymore,” he said. “It gives you a longer life for your mattress.”
When asked what has kept the business thriving for so long, Shanna said Jordan Bedding has always used the best-quality materials and created their products with special care that keeps customers satisfied and coming back for more.
“I think that we’re honest and we work hard, and we make a good product that lasts,” Shanna said. “We don’t compromise on quality, even when sometimes it has been harder to get supplies and stuff. We still try to keep our quality good, and our prices low.”
“We have a lot of loyal customers,” she said. “We get a lot of really good reviews from customers, and I’m always grateful.”
