Sharp shooters should check out the SAU Clay Target Combine and Winter Classic

-

The time has come—the SAU Clay Target Combine is now opened for high school participants between 9th and 12th grade.

The Southern Arkansas University Trap shooting Team, in partnership with Blue Rock Sportsman’s Club, is hosting a High School Combine for high school shooters to showcase their shooting excellence to College Coaches.

The tournament will give participants a chance to shoot in Trap Singles, Doubles and Skeet.

The Clay Target Combine will be held at Blue Rock Sportsman Club, located at 7800 Baucum Pike in North Little Rock on Feb. 10, starting at 8 a.m. Fees are $25 per 50 targets in Trap events and Skeet, and $60 per shooter if all three events are shot.

The scores will be published for College Coaches to view who can’t make it to the event in person, but several college coaches will likely be in attendance. Trophies will be awarded to the High Scoring Male and Female for all three events; 1st, 2nd & 3rdPace honors for High Overall; and Lady High Overall. Any ties will be determined by Shoot-off after other shooting is done for the day.

There will also be a follow-up Collegiate Tournament on the Sunday immediately following the high school event. This tournament will be hosted at the same venue and time on Feb. 11. and will give collegiate shooters a chance to compete in similar fashion for top honors in Trap Singles, Doubles, Sporting Clays and Skeet. Fees for the collegiate event are $200 to participate in all four events.

The College Shoot will depend on how many shooters are interested, due to busy college shooting schedules.
