Jennifer Elmore Corley Taking District 7 by Storm

- Special to the MDR Paid Political AD

Many of you know me as the person pushing back against corruption in Hot Spring County. I’m a 7th generation resident of Hot Spring County. I graduated from Glen Rose High School and Asu-three Rivers many years ago. I’m a former banker and business owner. I’m a homeschooling mother of 2 of the most wonderful children, and I care a great deal about the place in which I raise my babies. Due to this, along with the amount of crime our county has been riddled with, I was a staunch ally of Sheriff Finkbeiner’s before, during, and after his campaign for Sheriff. Together with my husband, Constable Waylon Corley, I started the Glen Rose Neighborhood Watch program several years ago. I have also served as the Hot Spring County Republican Party Social Media Coordinator for the last 2 years.

I am a part of a grassroots movement, full of people from all walks of life, who are tired of the direction our leaders are pulling our county. Drugs were openly sold on many of our roads, thieves were rampant, and corrupt public officials are still involved. It became apparent after Sheriff Finkbeiner’s wrongful arrest that there were many people upset with how much he has done to clean up our county. Certain members of our Quorum Court, including my political opponent, Gerald Black, have been quick to mention vacating the Sheriff’s position, asking him to resign, and taking away his salary.

Many in the county view this as taking away our vote to finally get a sheriff who protects the people and goes after the drugs plaguing our once great county. My ancestors settled in HSC in the early 1800’s, and I can tell you they are likely rolling over in their graves at the amount of corruption we have here. The only way to change that is to vote these people out.

I could take this space to tell you about the inconsistencies in what my opponent says and what he actually does, or I could use it to expose his extensive criminal history. I don’t mudsling, so I’m not doing either. Instead, I’d like to show you there is a better option in someone who actually cares about the people in this county. I don’t care what you drive, how big your house is, how much money you have in your bank account, or what your last name is. It makes no difference to me. I will represent YOU and your families with the same passion I do my own. Our grassroots movement aims to replace every corrupt county position in HSC. We the people have had enough of the deceit, cronyism, and corruption. We all want a better future for the next generation of Hot Spring County.

I have been fighting corruption in HSC for over 3 years. I have held corrupt public officials accountable through social media and have watched them fall to the wayside as their misdeeds are exposed. I have received threats from those who don’t want me speaking the truth about what’s happening here, and I will not bow to these people. If elected I will be scrutinizing our budget to find out where our tax dollars are actually going.

I want to say thank you to the many supporters who have expressed encouragement for what we’re doing. I’ve had more people than I can count come over to me at early voting to thank me and tell us to never quit, because they are seeing such a difference since we began this endeavor. I do this for my children, for your children, and for the future of Hot Spring County. I do this because when God calls you to do something you don’t sit down and wait on someone else to do the right thing. YOU do the work He has called you to do for the betterment of your community. Sometimes that is the simple act of voting. If not YOU then who?
