Arkansas CPESN Names Dr. Bri N. Morris as First Executive Director
Special to the MDR
The Arkansas Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Network is pleased to announce Bri N. Morris, Pharmd, as its new executive director. Dr. Morris is the first executive director in the organization’s history. Arkansas CPESN is a local, clinically integrated network of more than 180 pharmacies across the state dedicated to improving patient outcomes and lowering the total cost of care.
Prior to joining Arkansas CPESN, Dr. Morris spent over a decade leading practice transformation through various roles with the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), most recently spearheading all of NCPA’S education initiatives and long-term care efforts. Notable work includes ensuring medication adherence is a core competency of the pharmacy profession by empowering community pharmacists with the tools needed to make a measurable impact on the nation's $290 billion medication adherence problem, pushing forward the development of the long-term care (LTC) at home marketplace and advocating for an LTC level of care for this population, and developing and executing numerous programs to assist community pharmacists in streamlining workflow to add enhanced services. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and then went on to do an executive residency in association management at NCPA. She is an active member in American Pharmacists Association, NCPA, and the Arkansas Pharmacists Association. Dr. Morris is a native of Dewitt and currently resides in Little Rock.
“On behalf of the Arkansas CPESN Board of Managers, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Morris to lead the organization,” said Kyle Lomax, Pharmd, board president and owner of Southern Pharmacy in Jonesboro. With over 90% of the U.S. population residing within five miles of a pharmacy, community-based pharmacies are accessible health delivery points ready to close care gaps. As a rural state, Arkansas needs leadership to overcome the rank of worst in the nation for health care access according to a study published by Forbes Adviser . Dr. Lomax affirms, “Bri will work to cultivate sustainable payer and community partnerships, taking our organization to new heights.”
