MALVERN — With a challenge on hand due to a wet and unfair of rainy weather conditions Monday, the hometown Malvern Lady Leopards soccer team provided a valuable effort but fell to the Nashville Scrapperettes 5-0 in the conference match-up at Leopard Stadium on David Alpe Field.

Nashville held a 3-0 lead in the first half, then sparked for two goals scored in the second half.

The Lady Leopards came up with key defensive stops and made key plays offensively to create some productive execution during their 80 minute battle.

Malvern soccer head coach Seth Roberts was proud of how the Lady Leopards kept competing despite having to play in rainy wet weather conditions from a week off of action for spring break.

“The girls got off to a sluggish start and had to overcome awful playing conditions. We just made a few too many mistakes and weren’t used to how the ball skipped off the wet turf like it did,” Roberts said.

“I was proud of the way they kept battling and I know we will grow from last night and play that much better next game,” he added.
