Vinnie M. Maroney, age 94, of Hot Springs, formerly of Malvern, passed away on Wednesday April 10, 2024, in Hot Springs, AR. She was born in Hartman, AR on January 27, 1930, the daughter of Albert Gipson and Mary Elizabeth Riley.

Vinnie graduated from Clarksvill­e High School and attended Ouachita Technical School. She was employed at Magnet Cove Elementary, Oaklawn Racing, Arkansas Activities Associatio­n, and Betty’s Flowers. Vinnie was a great cook and loved to make pies. She and Tom traveled around the area to gather tomatoes, strawberri­es, corn, and shrimp. They delighted in hosting gatherings of family and friends to share good food. She loved flowers, her dogs and cats, and of course her family and friends. She is a long- time member of First United Methodist Church in Malvern.

Vinnie is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Florance Mcgath, Chester Gipson, Ralph Gipson, Edgar Gipson; and husband, Tom Maroney.

Left to cherish her memory, sister, Alvina Graves; daughters, Mary Kay Wurm ( Mike) and Dee Garrett both of Hot Springs; grandchild­ren, Julie Mcnerlin ( Andrew), Keith Eifert, and Laura Wurm; great- grandchild­ren, Adalyn and Garrett Mcnerlin. She is also survived by Tom Maroney’s children Gail, Susan, and Charles, grandchild­ren and great- grandchild­ren, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 2 pm at First

United Methodist Church in Malvern.

A private internment will be held at Shadowlawn at a later date.

The family would like to sincerely thank Gentiva Hospice and West Shores Senior Living for their excellent care.

Memorials may be made in Vinnie’s memory to First United Methodist Church, Garland County Humane Society or Malvern Animal Shelter.
