Shelter keeping busy as we slide into summer

- Special to the MDR

What else would you wanna do on a Friday afternoon besides walk some dogs at the City of Malvern Animal Shelter? The shelter had several friendly helpers stop by last week to spend a few minutes with the animals.

What a beautiful day it was! Sweet Ginger and Callie enjoyed their afternoon walk.

Ginger and her pups are being pulled by a rescue group at the end of this month! Shelter associates are thrilled for her and her babies!

Ms. Callie is available for adoption and would make the PERFECT family dog. She is about 45 pounds. She loves to roam around and she is a ball of JOY. She is good on her leash, and good with other dogs.

Callie is FULL of personality! Check out the shelter’s pictures of her. They urge people to come have a meet and greet with this baby girl—she has been here for 11 months.

Come see Callie and take her home! She won’t disappoint you!

Some of Callie’s canine friends at the shelter have been lucky enough to find forever homes in the last few weeks. Nina got help from Cecilia Ashcraft, who sponsored her adoption to a loving local family. Then there’s Taylor, who got scooped up by a tender soul who drove two hours last week to come get her.

If you can’t adopt or spend a few minutes at the shelter spreading love an joy, maybe you could find it in your heart to volunteer in some other way, or donate money and/or essential items like dog toys, dog food, bedding or bleach. Please contact the City of Malvern Animal Shelter at 501-304-0000 or stop by Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to see how you can help or schedule a time to volunteer.
