Aug. 16

A woman told police there was a man her in hcar that would not leave her alone. The man was heard telling police over the phone that the woman was too drunk to drive.

A woman reported someone had broken into her home, telling police the refrigerat­or doors was open, the cabinets were open and there were “cookies all over the place.” She said her dog barked at some point, but she never saw the cookie thief. She said she was unsure if it was a person or a bear, but there were “some sort of prints on the window.”

Someone from Links Way reported a bear had tried to break into their home. They said the same thing had occurred earlier, and they thought it might be the same bear.

Someone on Vacation Place told police a bear and two cubs tried to get into their house, but were walking down the street at the time of the call.

Someone reported several people fighting at the Shady Rest Park. The instigator of the fights was in a truck, reporting parties said.

Aug. 17

Someone reported seeing a bear at Mammoth Sierra Town Homes and it was “hissing at (him) and his wife.” He said the bear seemed to have cubs in the area.

Someone reported seeing “ten or so” juveniles playing baseball in the street near Sierra

Nevada Road and obstructin­g traffic.

Aug. 18

A mother told police her son might be missing. She said her son was drinking with his friends at a local bar and did not return to their hotel. She said another person, maybe two others, were with her son and they were also nowhere to be found.

Someone reported seeing a bear on Meridian Boulevard that “would not scare away.”

Someone near the South Gateway Student Housing said they wanted police to help remove a trailer that someone kept parking in their parking lot. They said the next step is they would have to tow the trailer and they were hoping to avoid that.

Someone reported seeing a reckless river driving down Davison Road headed toward Lake Mary Road at 10:53 p.m. going about 80 mph. They said they had seen the same driver in the same vehicle, a white Audi R8, before.

Aug. 19

Someone reported a mother “getting aggressive” and her son trying to restrain her. The reporting party said the mother was threatenin­g to kill herself. There were no weapons in the home, and the caller denied needing medical aid at the time of the call.

Someone reported a German shepherd dog running around a housing area on Lupin Street, barking at people.

Mammoth Trolley was assisted with an accident which injured someone.

Aug. 20

A mother called police because she was worried about her daughter. She said her daughter was arguing with her boyfriend.

She said they were in her house at the time of the call and she did not think the boyfriend had any weapons.

Someone reported “dropping” $400 a

Vons three days ago.

Someone called police to tell them that some other person was harassing her son-inlaw, including choking the son-in-law. She said the person doing the choking lived in a nearby unit and kept threatenin­g the son-inlaw.

Someone reported a man who was “whistling and yelling” at some people near the Mammoth Creek Park.

Someone reported a couple fighting in a room at the Mammoth Creek Inn. The caller said the man in the room kept going in and out of the room yelling at the woman in the room.

Aug. 21

Someone called police to report a fight in her room, then she hung up the phone.

Someone called to report an illegal campfire burning near the Inyo Craters Road.

Someone reported a man stumbling along the road near Beaver Trail, clearly drunk.

Someone reported a physical fight between a man and woman at the plaza in front of Kitchen 53.

Someone reported seeing a bear climbing on a vehicle near Sierra Nevada Road.

Aug. 22

Someone reported a theft at a local business. They said they had video of the theft or the possible thief.

Someone reported a bear inside of their home on Vacation Place 2.

Someone reported a bear in their vehicle on Meadow Court.

The same caller from Vacation Place said the same bear was likely back in their house, this time possibly in their living room.
