Aug. 30

Someone called police to report they heard two men making a lot of noise. The reporting person stated the men were driving a brown van and appeared to be taking things out of a residence. The reporting person was sure the men were not the owners and was worried the men were stealing from the residence.

A bear had broken into a house through a window screen on the second floor.

Someone witnessed an “irate man” on Sierra Manor Road. The reporting person said the man appeared to be very agitated, he was talking to himself and was kicking the stop signs. The reporting person said children were in the area and the man was headed in the direction of the high school.

A motorcycle alarm had been going off for several hours. The reporting person said they had attempted to contact the owner of the motorcycle but could not reach them.

Someone called for assistance with a bear in their home. The reporting person said they were able to scare off the mother, but they believed a cub was still inside the residence.

Aug. 31

An officer stopped on Joaquin Road to deal with two dogs running loose in the road.

Someone noticed a man at a bus stop “causing a scene.” The reporting person asked police to come and remove the man from the area.

Someone called police to report a person in a neighborin­g condo complex was playing very loud music. The reporting person wanted officers to go speak with the noisy neighbor.

Someone called police to report they saw people setting up an illegal camp site. The reporting person said there were at least three different vehicles in the area just off of the Scenic Loop road past the gate.

Someone called to report their mom and her dog had been attacked by another dog. The reporting person said their mom was feeling ill, but declined medical assistance.

Someone called to report a possible stolen vehicle. The reporting person said they had moved their roommate’s vehicle in the morning and when they returned late at night the vehicle was gone. The reporting person said their roommate was injured and unable to move the car themselves. The missing vehicle was a 2001 Dodge Durango.

Sept. 1

Someone called to report a beige motorhome had been parked for several weeks in the same spot. The reporting person wanted an officer to go speak with the driver about dispersed camping laws.

Someone noticed the driver of a red sedan had driven up on a curb and might be stuck. The reporting person thought the driver might need assistance.

Someone witnessed a motorcycle crash in front of a residence on Pyramid Peak Drive. The reporting person said the driver of the motorcycle left the area on foot and was screaming out in pain. They said the wrecked motorcycle was left behind and it was leaking fuel.

Someone called to report a suspicious person hiding in the bushes. The reporting person said the man appeared to be in his late 50’s, he had gray hair and beard, was wearing glasses and a gray, short sleeve shirt and was hiding in the bushes watching a younger woman eat.

A person called to report a suspicious person on the runway at the Mammoth Airport. The reporting person said the man and a white utility pickup were east of the terminal.

Sept. 2

Medical assistance was called for a man who fell off a bicycle and was unable to walk. The reporting person said there was something wrong with the man’s leg.

A bear was inside a residence on Manzanita Road. The reporting person said they yelled at the bear and then the bear exited out of the house through a window and charged at the reporting person. The reporting person said the bear then turned around and went back inside the residence.

Someone called to report a “ring of kids” who had stolen their medication. The reporting person said the kids were inside the residence at the time of the call asleep on their couch. They stated the kids had been going up in the attic searching for the medication and had taken all of it.

Someone called for advice from an officer on how to handle a possible extortion. The reporting person said someone was attempting to extort them through the internet. The reporting person said they had already paid the person through the internet and does not know how to proceed.

Sept. 3

Someone called to report a group of people who showed up to the residence claiming they had rented the house. The reporting person said these people were attempting to kick them out of their residence and they said they did not believe the reporting person when they said they owned the house.

Someone called to report two people were attempting to break into a yard. The reporting person said their dad was on the scene and did not have a descriptio­n of the people attempting to break in.

Sept. 4

Someone walking home called to report their ex kept driving by. The reporting person said a restrainin­g order was in place and the ex had parked in an area between where the reporting person was and where they needed to go.

Sept. 5

Someone called for assistance with checking out of their room. The reporting person said the person at the front desk was threatenin­g them and they were afraid to go check out of their room. The reporting person said they were worried the person at the front desk would get physical with them.

Someone called to report an incident with a man with a dragon tattoo on their left hand. The reporting person said the man with the tattoo claimed the reporting person had damaged their Porsche. The reporting person said the man with the tattoo then brandished a knife at the reporting person and threatened them.
