September 6

Someone called to report a bear stuck in a tree on Main Street.

Someone called to report some suspicious activity occurring in their home. The reporting person said the neighbor has a key to the home and has been entering the reporting persons house. The reporting person also said the neighbor had recently brought a man into their house and the reporting person is concerned they are doing suspicious things. The reporting person said they do not feel safe and is worried the neighbor is taking their possession­s.

Someone called to report they had an incident with two off leash dogs. The reporting person said the dogs were a large German Shepherd and Pitbull and they were aggressive. One of the dogs chased the reporting person down the hall. The reporting person did mention the owner of the dogs had shown up and pulled the dogs inside.

Someone witnessed a traffic accident involving a white Jeep. The reporting person said the driver of the Jeep had crashed into a tree on the corner of Mono and Meridian Boulevard. The driver then took off and the reporting person was unable to see where the driver was headed.

September 7

Someone called to ask for assistance from officers to keep the peace. The reporting person said they had gotten into an argument with their roommate the night before and had left the property. When the reporting person returned the next day most of their belongings had been removed from the residence and placed in a vehicle. The reporting person was requesting an officer to be present so they could retrieve the rest of their things.

Two hikers exiting from the John Muir Trail called to request assistance to retrieve their vehicle from behind the locked gate at the Cold Water Campground.

Someone called to report a possible hazard.

The reporting person said there was a charcoal grill located next to a house and the reporting person was unsure if the grill was allowed.

Someone called to report the driver of a dark colored sedan had hit a bear on Canyon Boulevard.

September 8

Someone called to report a black Toyota truck pulled over on the side of Highway 203. The reporting person said the truck smelled like it was leaking fuel.

Someone called to report an aggressive dog inside a parked vehicle. The reporting person said they were attempting to get inside their own vehicle next to the one with the aggressive dog inside of it but the window is down far enough for the dog to exit and the reporting person did not feel safe.

Medical assistance was called for a man who was laying on the ground. The reporting person said they did not know what happened to the man and the man appeared to be breathing but was unresponsi­ve.

Someone called to report a bear had attempted to break into their home and had damaged a screen. The reporting person wanted to speak to an officer.

September 9

An officer stopped to check if a parked car was camping illegally.

Someone called to report a traffic accident. The reporting person said they had been rear ended and the driver of the other vehicle did not have insurance.

September 10

Medical assistance was called for a man who fell off their skateboard. The reporting person stated the man might have a concussion.

Someone called to report they had been attacked by a person with a knife. The reporting person said the attacking person was wearing a black hoodie and yellow pants and had run away after the attack. The reporting person said they did not know the attacker or need medical attention.

Someone called to report an injured bear. The reporting person said the bear might have a broken leg because the bear was not putting weight on the leg. The reporting person said there were three cubs with the injured bear.

Medical assistance was called for a person who crashed on a bicycle. The reporting person said there might be a head injury.

Someone called to report an intoxicate­d person walking down the street yelling at vehicles as well as “slamming into them.”

Medical assistance was called for two people. The reporting person said the subjects were bleeding from their heads and thinks they might have fallen down the stairs.

September 11

Someone called to request a welfare check on their spouse. The reporting person said their spouse had been staying at a hotel for approximat­ely seven days and had not heard from them. The reporting person had requested a hotel employee go knock on the door but there was no answer.

Someone called to provide proof their vehicle was not parked illegally.

An officer stopped on Mono Street to scare off a bear and two cubs.

September 12

Someone called for assistance with removing bears from inside their house. The reporting person said two windows had been broken open but the bears were now in the upper level of the home.

Someone called to report they had seen several people walking past the gate closure near Tamarack Resort. The reporting person said it was a group of approximat­ely eight to ten people heading towards the campground.

Someone called to report a bear with two cubs on Azimuth Drive. The reporting person said one of the cubs was stuck on the balcony and the mother was attempting to reach the cub.
