Mammoth local and actor will be on Dancing With the Stars
Season starts next week
Times Staff Report A Mammoth local, Trevor Donovan, will be one of the cast member’s of this season’s Dancing with the Stars, which streams on Disney+ starting on Monday, Sept. 19.
Donovan, 41, who has also had a lucrative acting career (see below), is a former Mammoth snowboarder and ski team member, according to his agent, Michael Yanni.
Now Donovan, who lives in both Mammoth (and has parents in Mammoth) and Los Angeles, will try his hand (feet?) at ballroom dancing.
“While some of the celebrity cast had previously been leaked, the full casting announcement for Season 31 came on GMA, and it included the news that former Days of our Lives, 90210, and Hallmark Channel romance movie staple, Trevor Donovan (ex-jeremy Horton) will compete on the show as well as Let’s Make a Deal host and former The Bold and the Beautiful star, Wayne Brady (ex-dr. Reese Buckingham),” according to an article by Michaelfairman TV.

Donovan will be paired with Emma Slater.
According to Yanni, Donovan grew up skiing and snowboarding, and during his teens, was on the US Teen Ski Team.
“Donovan is a true renaissance man,” he said. “Aside from being proficient at most sports, he can play guitar, he can sing, he earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, he is an active ambassador for Habitat for Humanity and the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, he is a canine advocate, and, he started a nationwide antibullying program called Team Upstanders,” Yanni said.
“Donovan is most known for his work as fan favorite, Teddy Montgomery on the global pop culture phenom, 90210, the show’s first and only LGBTQ+ character that was a series regular,” Yanni said. “Donovan also starred in the History Channel epic mini-series Texas Rising opposite Bill Paxton, Ray Liotta and Jeffrey Dean Morgan,” he said. Donovan’s upcoming projects include the movie Reagan, with Dennis Quaid, as well as Wolfhound, Aloha with Love, The Engagement Plot and Hot Water. His TV credits include recurring roles on Sun Records, The Client List, Melissa & Joey, Awkward, NCIS, and Lucifer.
“Donovan is active daily on social media, with a worldwide reach of over 10 million people a month across three platforms,” he said. “Donovan refers to his social media platforms as “An escape from negativity and a positive place for pet lovers.”
Donovan is also an author. He wrote three children’s books including: Love Always, Dogbert & Tito, Love Always, Dogbert’s Journey, and Love Always, Chance the Courageous.
