Perez hits 2B in 10th, Ports cap sweep

SAN JOSE (AP) — Bral­lan Perez hit an RBI dou­ble in the top of the 10th in­ning to help lead the Stock­ton Ports to an 11-10 win over the San Jose Gi­ants on Thurs­day. The Ports swept the three­game se­ries with the win.

Luke Per­sico scored the go-ahead run on the dou­ble af­ter he started the in­ning on sec­ond. Later in the in­ning, Stock­ton added an in­sur­ance run when Perez scored on an er­ror.

In the bot­tom of the in­ning, San Jose scored on a dou­ble-play ground­out by San­dro Fabian that brought home Gio Brusa. How­ever, Miguel Romero got Matt Winn to hit into a force­out with a run­ner on first to end the game for his 13th save of the sea­son.

The Ports tied the game 9-9 in the ninth when Wil­liam Tof­fey hit an RBI sin­gle, bring­ing home Skye Bolt as part of a three-run in­ning.

Tof­fey home­red and sin­gled twice, driv­ing in three runs in the win. Collin Th­er­oux hit a pair of solo homers.

An­gel Duno (2-0) got the win with a score­less in­ning in re­lief while Nolan Riggs (1-3) took the loss in the Cal­i­for­nia League game.
