CO­CAINE HEADED FOR MAN­TECA AREA?

Some 200 pounds of co­caine val­ued at $6 mil­lion was taken off the streets in Fresno that in­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve may have been headed north into the Man­teca area. It was taken off the streets re­cently by a ca­nine unit of the Cal­i­for­nia High­way Pa­trol. The CHP with the as­sis­tance of the De­part­ment of Jus­tice High Im­pact In­ves­ti­ga­tion Team are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion of the drugs laid out next to the SUV pa­trol unit. It has been es­tab­lished that High­way 99 and In­ter­state 5 have long served as a con­duit for trans­port­ing drugs like co­caine from the south­ern bor­der to the north part of the state and into Ore­gon, Washington, and Canada.
