COCAINE HEADED FOR MANTECA AREA?
Some 200 pounds of cocaine valued at $6 million was taken off the streets in Fresno that investigators believe may have been headed north into the Manteca area. It was taken off the streets recently by a canine unit of the California Highway Patrol. The CHP with the assistance of the Department of Justice High Impact Investigation Team are continuing investigation of the drugs laid out next to the SUV patrol unit. It has been established that Highway 99 and Interstate 5 have long served as a conduit for transporting drugs like cocaine from the southern border to the north part of the state and into Oregon, Washington, and Canada.
