Cool down this Tues­day dur­ing Mar­ket & Mu­sic

The coolest place to be Tues­day in Man­teca when the high is ex­pected to hit 101 de­grees is at the Mar­ket & Mu­sic at Li­brary Park be­tween 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Here’s why: ▶The in­ter­ac­tive wa­ter play fea­ture will be turned on for kids to en­joy.

▶The cool sounds of the Bour­bon Street Blues Band out of Modesto will be play­ing.

▶Lo­cal wine and the craft beer of the week will be avail­able.

▶There’s no need to cook in a hot kitchen as food trucks and other food pur­vey­ors are sell­ing their wares that can be en­joyed un­der the ex­pan­sive shade of the park’s gi­ant sycamore trees that pro­vide ad­di­tional re­lief as evening draws near thanks to cool­ing Delta breezes.

Man­teca Cham­ber of Com­merce Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor Joann Beat­tie noted the in­au­gu­ral mar­ket last week of the 2018 Mar­ket & Mu­sic that runs through the end of July “was

a huge suc­cess” with a larger crowd than the first week last year.

Be­sides six pro­duce ven­dors and those sell­ing foodrelated prod­ucts such as olive oil and spe­cialty items there are a host of other ven­dors in­clud­ing the Sun­rise Ki­wa­nis pro­mot­ing the Man­teca cen­ten­nial pump­kin grow­ing con­test.

New this year to the down­town mar­ket is a corn hole game, free face paint­ing, and the of­fer­ing of dif­fer­ent craft beers each week. That is in ad­di­tion to lo­cal wine. There will also be two rocks hid­den in Li­brary Park with those find­ing them re­ceiv­ing a cer­tifi­cate for $5 worth of pro­duce

Food ven­dors in­clude Fa­gun­des, pizza, and food trucks.
