▶MAN­TECA UKE JAM: Ukulele play­ers of all ages and skill lev­els are in­vited to jam to­gether on the first Sun­day of every month from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the McFall room of the Man­teca Pub­lic Li­brary, 320 W. Cen­ter Street. Singers are in­vited if ac­com­pa­nied by a ukulele player. It is a free event. SATUR­DAY, SEPT. 8

▶AR­TI­SAN MAR­KET AT DEL­I­CATO: The fi­nal Sum­mer Ar­ti­san mar­ket hosted by Del­i­cato Vine­yards in their wine tast­ing room on High­way 99 at French Camp Road four miles north of Man­teca is this Satur­day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stay cool in­side for the event that has free ad­mis­sion, sip wine, and shop lo­cal food prod­ucts, jew­elry, wear­ables, hand­crafted items and more. The wine tast­ing fee is $5 (waived for Del­i­cato Wine Club mem­bers). There is no fee to browse the mar­ket. Rock Oven Pizza will be sell­ing hot per­sonal pizza.

SATUR­DAY, SEPT. 8 ▶FRIENDS OF EU ME­MO­RIAL CEME­TERY

PI­O­NEER DIN­NER: Friends of East Union Me­mo­rial Ceme­tery’s 3rd An­nual EUMC Pi­o­neer Din­ner takes place Satur­day, Sept. 8, at the Man­teca Se­nior Cen­ter, 295 Cherry Lane. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., with din­ner served at 6 p.m. Din­ner in­cludes chicken marsala, pork ten­der­loin, and scal­loped pota­toes, along with ‘Aunt Jan’s’ fa­mous home­made peach cob­bler. Tick­ets are avail­able for $25 at the EUMC of­fice, 1035 N. Union Road, any week­day be­tween 8and 11:30 a.m., or by call­ing the of­fice at 209.823.8533 and leav­ing a mes­sage. Ta­bles for par­ties of 8-10 peo­ple are avail­able.

THURS­DAY, SEPT. 13

▶BROOK­DALE ALZ FUNDRAISER: Brook­dale is stag­ing a crab and steak din­ner as an Alzheimer’s fundraiser on Thurs­day, Sept. 13, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Brook­dale Man­teca, 430 N. Union Road. Din­ner in­cludes salad, steak, crab, baked potato, salad dough bread and dessert. There will be live en­ter­tain­ment and a raf­fle. Tick­ets are $30 adults and $15 for kids. ▶RIPON GRANGE CHICKEN BBQ: The seventh an­nual Ripon Grange chicken bar­be­cue takes place Satur­day, Sept. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grange Hall, corner of Mil­geo and Ripona av­enues in Ripon. Din­ner in­cludes chicken, beans, salad and dessert. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for chil­dren 10 and un­der. Drive thru is avail­able.

MON­DAY, SEPT. 17

▶MAN­TECA GAR­DEN CLUB MEET­ING: The monthly meet­ing of the Man­teca Gar­den Club takes place Mon­day, Sept. 17, at the Man­teca Pub­lic Li­brary, 320 W. Cen­ter St., Man­teca. Re­fresh­ments are at 12:30 p.m. with Ris­ing Sun Farm & Gar­den Op­er­a­tions Co­or­di­na­tor Am­ber Thorpe speak­ing at 1 p.m. Ris­ing Sun Farm & Gar­den is part of the Pat­ter­son Joint Uni­fied School Dis­trict pro­vid­ing stu­dents from Pat­ter­son, New­man Crows Land­ing School Dis­trict and sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties a life skill de­vel­op­ment pro­gram for young adults with spe­cial needs, ages 18-22. All are wel­come, Mem­ber­ship is al­ways open.

▶O▶ARIAN CAN­CER FUNDRAISER: The Ovar­ian Can­cer Al­liance Board mem­bers are stag­ing a drive thru fundraiser at Fa­gun­des Meats, 142 Ja­son St., Man­teca on Thurs­day, Sept. 20, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu con­sists of a quar­ter chicken, tri-tip, scal­loped pota­toes, green beans, roll and but­ter. Sales end Sept. 13. the cost is $15. Tick­ets are $25 per per­son and $15 for those 12 and un­der. Reser­va­tion dead­line is Fri­day, Sept. 21. ▶PAULSEN’S HOT ROD PARTY: Pete Paulsen’s 29th an­nual Hot Rod Party is Sun­day, Oct. 14. It takes place at the Paulsen Ranch in French Camp near the San Joaquin River from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gen­eral ad­mis­sion is $6 while those 10 and un­der are free. Early car en­try is $30 while day of the event it jumps to $40. The show is for all years Amer­i­can made or pow­ered. It fea­tures ven­dors, tri-tip BBQ by Fa­gun­des, hot dogs, and a live auc­tion at 2 p.m. Spe­cial guests in­clude “Miss Hurst” Linda Vaughn, John D’Agostini and his car “Rita”, DJs Johnny T & Wolfie, the Port City Roller Girls, and Har­ley the hug­ging dog.
