THURS­DAY, SEPT. 13 ▶MAN­TECA MU­SEUM PRO­GRAM: The Man­teca His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety will hold their monthly pro­gram night on Wed­nes­day, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m.at the mu­seum, 600 W. Yosemite Ave. Fea­tured speaker will be Artemis Vourakis pre­sent­ing a pro­gram about her Greek par­ents and their im­mi­gra­tion to the United States. THURS­DAY, SEPT. 13 ▶BROOK­DALE ALZ FUNDRAISER: Brook­dale is stag­ing a crab and steak din­ner as an Alzheimer’s fundraiser on Thurs­day, Sept. 13, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Brook­dale Man­teca, 430 N. Union Road. Din­ner in­cludes salad, steak, crab, baked po­tato, salad dough bread and dessert. There will be live en­ter­tain­ment and a raf­fle. Tick­ets are $30 adults and $15 for kids. Re­fresh­ments are at 12:30 p.m. with Ris­ing Sun Farm & Gar­den Op­er­a­tions Co­or­di­na­tor Am­ber Thorpe speak­ing at 1 p.m. Ris­ing Sun Farm & Gar­den is part of the Pat­ter­son Joint Uni­fied School District pro­vid­ing stu­dents from Pat­ter­son, Newman Crows Land­ing School District and sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties a life skill de­vel­op­ment pro­gram for young adults with spe­cial needs, ages 18-22. All are wel­come, Mem­ber­ship is al­ways open.

MON­DAY, SEPT. 17, & WED­NES­DAY, SEPT. 19 ▶MAN­TECA AMER­I­CAN LE­GION OPEN HOUSE: Amer­i­can Le­gion McFall Gr­isham Post 249 in Man­teca will rec­og­nize the be­gin­ning of the 100th year of ser­vice by the Amer­ica Le­gion. On Sept. 17 and Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Post lo­cated at 220 E. Yosemite Ave. will stage an open house. There will be a wide range of vin­tage mil­i­tary items in­clud­ing vin­tage Jeeps and his­tory of Post 249. Snacks and re­fresh­ments will be avail­able and they ask that any­body who would like to have a look at some of Man­teca his­tory at­tend.

THURS­DAY, SEPT. 20 ▶OVAR­IAN CAN­CER FUNDRAISER: The Ovar­ian Can­cer Al­liance Board mem­bers are stag­ing a drive thru fundraiser at Fa­gun­des Meats, 142 Ja­son St., Man­teca on Thurs­day, Sept. 20, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu con­sists of a quar­ter chicken, tri-tip, scal­loped pota­toes, green beans, roll and but­ter. Sales end Sept. 13. the cost is $15. SUN­DAY, OCT. 14 ▶PAULSEN’S HOT ROD PARTY: Pete Paulsen’s 29th an­nual Hot Rod Party is Sun­day, Oct. 14. It takes place at the Paulsen Ranch in French Camp near the San Joaquin River from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gen­eral ad­mis­sion is $6 while those 10 and un­der are free. Early car en­try is $30 while day of the event it jumps to $40. The show is for all years Amer­i­can made or pow­ered. It fea­tures ven­dors, tri-tip BBQ by Fa­gun­des, hot dogs, and a live auc­tion at 2 p.m. Spe­cial guests in­clude “Miss Hurst” Linda Vaughn, John D’Agostini and his car “Rita”, DJs Johnny T & Wolfie, the Port City Roller Girls, and Har­ley the hug­ging dog.
