Police raids prompt community forum
“Hope through Healing,” a community workshop about the Nov. 14 police raids involving the Orinda homicide investigation, will be held on Wednesday.
Community groups are organizing the event to provide discussion and therapy for families traumatized by the raids. The five victims of the Halloween shootings included a Marin City man, and several suspects have Marin City ties.
“We are a community of caring people that want to remind people this was an isolated incident in which some young people made some bad decisions,” said Felecia Gaston, a community organizer. “We don’t want this to taint the community.”
The workshop is set for 5:30 p.m. at Bayside Martin Luther King Jr. Academy at 200 Phillips Drive.
