Power outage hits Central Marin swath

An estimated 4,395 customers lost power Saturday in San Rafael, San Anselmo and Fairfax.

The outage started at about 9 a.m. All but 1,100 customers had power restored within 20 minutes, Pacific Gas & Electric Co. spokeswoman Deanna Contreras said.

All service was said to be restored by 6 p.m., although some residents reported multiple power outages.

“During the restoration process, it’s possible power to those customers was impacted again a few minutes later but everyone did have power by 6:30 p.m.,” Contreras said.

The cause is under investigation.
