When the week began, 32 Marin teams were competing across the North Coast Section basketball and soccer playoffs.

As we head into the semifinals on Tuesday and Wednesday, 14 teams remain in the hunt, meaning a lot of players in the county had impressive weeks.

Stella Neuschul, Redwood basketball

The Giants hit the road on Friday and pulled off an upset in overtime thanks in large part to Neuschul’s 22-point performance. Neuschul was stellar, making six 3-pointers as Redwood

topped Acalanes in the D-II quarterfinals.

A.J. Rohosy,

Marin Catholic basketball

Rohosy scored 23.5 points per game to lead the Wildcats into the D-IV semifinals. Rohosy saved his best for last against Arcata on Saturday, getting a bucket to tie the game late then scoring six huge points as MC pulled away in overtime.

Max Diaz,

San Rafael soccer

The midfielder broke a scoreless tie in the early stages of double overtime as No. 9 San Rafael stunned top-seeded Piner in the DIII quarterfinals on Saturday

night.

Thalia Greenberg, Tam soccer

The midfielder scored twice and assisted on two other goals as the Red-tailed Hawks advanced to the semifinals after posting a pair of shutouts. Tam outscored its opponents 8-0. Greenberg scored in both games and had a pair of assists in a win against Casa Grande.

Jaden Ramos, Redwood wrestling

The county’s best bet for state came good at the NCS championships, placing second in the 113-pound bracket. Ramos picked up four consecutive wins before losing in the finals.

Lily El-Masri,

San Marin wrestling

The sophomore is headed to state for the second consecutive year after compiling a 4-1 record in the 170-pound bracket at the NCS girls championships, placing second.

Calista Poulos,

Marin Academy soccer

The sophomore netted three times as No. 2 Marin Academy picked up a pair of wins to book a place in the semifinals against No. 3 Marin Catholic on Tuesday. Poulos scored twice in the opening round then scored the opener in a quarterfinal win against Sonoma Academy.

Paris Manthoulis, Branson soccer

With his team trailing 2-0 with 15 minutes to go in the first round, Manthoulis scored a hat trick — including the winner in overtime — to help Branson move into the quarterfinals. Although the Bulls’ season ended at that stage, Manthoulis scored again, bringing his tally for the week to four goals.

Aleksa Milentijevic, San Domenico basketball

The Serbian averaged 18 points per game as San Domenico advanced to the D-V semifinals and qualified for NorCals for the first time in the program’s three-year existence.
