Troupe hosts costume sale
Ross Valley Players is having a costume sale on Oct. 17, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Barn Theater parking lot on the grounds of the Marin Art and Garden Center, 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Ross. The organization will be selling costumes, tuxedos, vintage and fancy dresses and men’s clothing, shoes, military uniforms, wigs, hats, handbags, scarves and other accessories. Ross Valley Players costume designer, Michael Berg, has also designed washable and safe custom masks for sale. Free parking is available in the lower lot. Signs will direct you to the upper parking lot sale. Masks must be worn at the sale. Cash and checks only will be accepted.
Practice yoga for peace
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Center for Domestic Peace and yoga teachers and studios around Marin County will hold a simultaneous yoga session on Oct. 24, 9:30-10:30 a.m., in universal support of survivors of domestic violence. The event is free. Donations are suggested to help support the mission of the organization. Zoom links to the event are available at centerfordomesticpeace.org/dvam.
‘Thriller Thursday’ at NMCS
North Marin Community Services is hosting “Thriller Thursday,” a free, online event on Oct. 29, 5-6:15 p.m. Join special guest state Sen. Mike McGuire and others to hear powerful client stories and help more people in need through the organization’s expanded Emergency Rental Assistance Program, the weekly Food Pantry, mental health services and other critical programs that help community members in Marin.

Heart of Marin nominations
Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership has opened the call for nominations for the 28th Annual Heart of Marin Awards. Everyone is encouraged to honor the contributions and achievements of nonprofits and leaders who help the community by submitting nominations online. The deadline for submissions is Nov. 13 by 5 p.m. at cvnl.org.
