Voting set to begin on 2 tax measures

The county will mail ballots to registered voters in two neighborho­ods on Feb. 1 to decide the fate of special tax measures.

In Santa Venetia, residents within Flood Zone 7a will vote on Measure A, determinin­g the amount of a tax for the Gallinas Creek levee project.

In Tamalpais Valley, residents on Ridgewood Road will vote on Measure B, a special tax for road maintenanc­e.

The election is March 2. A polling place will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. for voters in the flood zone. No polling place will be available for the Measure B election. Eligible residents who are not registered may register and vote at the elections department at the Marin County Civic Center.

Ballot return envelopes must be signed and postmarked by election day or placed in Civic Center drop boxes by 8 p.m.
