Tam boys, Redwood girls stay unbeaten

Caden Carney finished in first place to lead the Tam High boys cross country team to a 26-29 victory against Redwood on Saturday.

Carney came in with a time of 15 minutes, 20 seconds. Tomo Scharber placed second for Tam in 15:34 while Hudson Grace paced Redwood in third with a 15:40.

Tam and Drake are the remaining unbeatens on the boys side and face each other on March 31 on the SF Bay Trail course in Novato.

• Hailey Connery paced the Redwood girls with a time of 18:04, lifting the Giants to an 18-41 victory against Tam on Saturday. Redwood’s Helena Janku came in one second behind her teammate to take second place. Tam’s Briana McInnis placed fourth in 18:11. Redwood and Marin Catholic remain unbeaten on the girls side and face off on April 3 at Marin Catholic.

• Calvin McCarthy took first place for Drake with a time of 13:12 on the 2.5mile course at San Rafael High, leading the Pirates past the Bulldogs, 16-47. Nick Parr, Evan Lee and Julian Durante placed second through fourth, respective­ly for Drake. San Rafael’s Acer Cristea took fifth.

• San Rafael’s Elana Pletcher (17:35) and Lila Hoeh (17:37) finished first and second respective­ly against Drake, which won the meet because the Bulldogs didn’t field a full team. Alyssa Connelly placed third to lead the Pirates.

• Jeremy Bloomberg paced Terra Linda on the 2.9-mile course at San Geronimo, taking first with a time of 16:56 as the Trojans defeated Branson, 23-37. Oliver Goldman came in second for the Bulls, in a time of 17:23.

• Branson’s Adeline Johnson finished first in 18:06 as the Bulls defeated TL, 17-44. Johnson’s teammates Sage Sanderson and Caitlin Evers took second and third, respective­ly, followed by TL’s Emily Carmona in fourth.

Prep swimming

Calvin Cunnan and Danny Cribbin were double winners as Terra Linda topped Marin Academy, 9176, on Friday night.

Cunnan won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breast while Cribbin took the 50 free and 100 free. Merrick Jasko set a personal record with a time of 2:03.25 in the 200 free.

The Terra Linda girls picked up a 137-28 win against MA, led by Kayla Yu, Nicole Chong and Tereza Shea, all double winners.
