Neighbor’s tip leads to burglary arrests

Two people were arrested in connection with a residentia­l burglary in Inverness.

The alleged crime was reported at about 9:15 a.m. Sunday, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. A resident who was not home said his neighbor alerted him that someone was taking items out of his house, sheriff’s Sgt. Brenton Schneider said.

Deputies and a National Park Service ranger, following the neighbor’s descriptio­n, stopped a vehicle on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road near Highway 1. They found two people in the car along with items from the Inverness home and suspected drugs and drug parapherna­lia.

Craig Mitchell Weaver, 34, of San Rafael was booked into Marin

County Jail on suspicion of burglary, resisting arrest and possessing drugs and substances requiring a prescripti­on. Lia Watts, 37, of San Rafael was booked on suspicion of burglary and possessing a controlled substance.
