Neighbor’s tip leads to burglary arrests
Two people were arrested in connection with a residential burglary in Inverness.
The alleged crime was reported at about 9:15 a.m. Sunday, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. A resident who was not home said his neighbor alerted him that someone was taking items out of his house, sheriff’s Sgt. Brenton Schneider said.
Deputies and a National Park Service ranger, following the neighbor’s description, stopped a vehicle on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road near Highway 1. They found two people in the car along with items from the Inverness home and suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Craig Mitchell Weaver, 34, of San Rafael was booked into Marin
County Jail on suspicion of burglary, resisting arrest and possessing drugs and substances requiring a prescription. Lia Watts, 37, of San Rafael was booked on suspicion of burglary and possessing a controlled substance.
