Joy Kent Winters

Joy Kent Winters, born May 17, 1926 to Glenn and Edna Bothwell Kent of Klamath Falls, Oregon passed peacefully on April 16, 2022 with family by her side. She was predecease­d by her husband of 50 years, Robert Carlyle Winters, her parents, and brothers, Robert and Earl Kent. She is survived by her children: Penelope Jones, Robert Winters, and Gloria Ann Winters; grandsons: Kyle and Max Jones and Ross and Will Winters; daughterin-law, Canada Ross; and sons-in-law Tim Jones and Matt Brown; and her nieces and a nephew.

Joy was an active member of her church and community throughout her lifetime. She was especially proud to have been an active member of the First United Methodist Church in San Rafael for 62 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmothe­r and a loyal friend to all who knew her. Joy’s education at Stephen’s College in Missouri, Oregon State University and then the Chicago Conservato­ry of Music were the foundation­s for her successful career. She was proud of her time as a school teacher in the mountains of Sisters, OR as well as her advancemen­t to being a Music Programmer at KRON, and then ultimately finishing her profession­al career in marketing research in San Francisco.

A service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 9 Ross Valley Dr., San Rafael, CA on May 21,

2022 at 11:00 a.m.
