Anne Lucia Ravera Dinelli

-

New Year’s Eve in 1921, Anne was born in San Francisco to her Italian immigrant parents, Lucia and Biagio Ravera. She lived in the Mission with her family, which included her brother Harold, studied to be a secretary, met Roger Dinelli and became a war bride in 1943. Anne, Roger, Darlene, Bob and Lynn moved to their new home in Sausalito in 1959. Through the Sausalito Women’s Club, Anne helped to raise thousands of dollars for scholarships, and for the preservation of historical buildings. She made many friends volunteering at the local Thrift Shop that benefited multiple charities and she enjoyed participating in her church’s Christmas Bazaar raising money for her parish. Anne found great happiness in Sausalito.

She was a tiny package but stronger than our winter storms. Anne was the glue that quietly held our family together. At Anne’s house there was always room for a friend or neighbor; being warm, welcoming, supportive and generous were her gifts to others. Anne was a skillful, creative and productive force. Yet, she remained humble despite having accomplished so much. Anne will forever be with us in the lessons she shared and the love she showed us all. Remember Anne with a smile and her message, “Be kind to each other.”

A “Sweet Celebration” of her life will be held during the summer.
