Panel weighs in on residential projects

-

The town Advisory Design Review Group has endorsed two residential projects and offered a mixed a opinion on a third.

The board met Tuesday with three members present and two absent, said Matthew Weintraub, town planner. It recommended that the town approve an application for a new pool and decks at 3 Willow Hill Road and another application to build first- and secondstory additions at 15 Skyland Way.

The panelists did not make a unanimous recommendation on a proposal for 5 Ames Ave., Weintraub said.

“They broke the project into two components, the cabana, and the main house,” Weintraub said. “Two of the members could recommend approval of the cabana with a condition of approval that the roof be removed, one member recommended approval with a condition that the roof be removed or lowered.”

“The project also included changes to the exterior of the main house,” he said. “One member recommended approval as designed, one member recommended approval with a condition of approval that the roof be changed to match the architecture of the pool house and one member abstained.”
