Sackett is best choice for District 1 supervisor

Congratulations to the Marin IJ editorial board for its endorsement of Mary Sackett as the best candidate running for supervisor in District 1 (“In close call for District 1 supervisor, Mary Sackett is the best pick,” May 12).

As a supporter of Sackett's campaign, I have observed her frequent references to personal experiences in tackling tough questions. Her answers nearly always reference her involvement while working on the issue as a senior aide for Damon Connolly's team. Very few questions addressed topics that Sackett wasn't totally familiar with. This in-depth knowledge of the issues facing Marin at this critical time will provide for a smooth transition.

Her familiarity with the numerous community organizations throughout District 1 enabled Sackett to understand their issues. Her personal touch while listening and asking in-depth questions enable her to comprehend and propose workable solutions to difficult topics.

Mary Sackett's familiarity with the issues in Marin's District 1 enabled her to be selected by the editors of the Marin IJ. That is a choice that will benefit the constituents of Marin.
