Castillo keys Tam's thrilling win over Terra Linda

Tamalpais High edged Terra Linda, 4-3, as the daylight dimmed with a last-match win Thursday. The Red-tailed Hawks' Diego Castillo scored a crucial 6-0, 6-1 victory over Luca Ratra at No. 1 singles, and Tam swept doubles play.

Terra Linda's Jack Rosenthal rallied for a 3-6, 7-6, 13-11 victory over Tam's Dylan Boone at No. 2 singles Thursday to help spur the Trojans. Trojans freshman En-Yun Liu and Julian Robin also won their singles matches.

• Redwood High's Jesse Chi held off San Marin's Jackson Sietler, 6-3, 6-4, at the top of the singles order to lead the Giants to a 7-0 sweep of the host Mustangs on Thursday. Redwood's Arseniy Kalalev, Kash Connors and Anton Boak also won their singles matches.

• The Hawks' Boone held off the Peregrine Falcons' Henry Williams 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 singles as Tam swept Archie Williams 7-0 on Wednesday. Tam's Tyler Byrne won a hard-fought No. 1 singles match against Henry Pratt, 6-1, 6-1. Emmet

Boys soccer

All four Marin teams in D-IV crashed out in the first round, although No. 12 Marin Catholic and No. 13 Branson both battled, falling 1-0 to No. 5 Healdsburg and No. 4 Saint Mary's, respective­ly, on Wednesday night.

Jake Ferguson scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly by pinch hitter Caleb Jeske to give host College of Marin a 7-6 victory Thursday over Lassen in 10 innings, the Mariners' longest game so far this season.

Jacob Campbell was 3-for-5 at the plate, with a double and home run to score twice and drive in two runs for the Mariners (4-6). Lucas Schaefer and Cam Appling both doubled and and Ferguson hit a triple.

Releiver Sid Polston (1-1) picked up the win as he allowed one run on hit and one walk in two innings of work.

Marin is scheduled to travel to Chabot College on Friday.
