The October shoulder season means bratwurst, brews, souvlaki, barbecue, pie and gourmet bites at a slew of county festivals and events.

Purchase beer tasting tickets with souvenir glass and unlimited tastings ($35 in advance, $50 event day) or register in advance for morning road, gravel or mountain group rides or for the 9 to 11 a.m. family ride at Marinbike.org/biketoberfest. All proceeds support Marin County Bicycle Coalition and Access4Bikes and their efforts to expand Marin County's network of bike lanes, pathways and trails.
