Marin Academy, Bishop O'Dowd draw

Malcolm Zalayet and Sophian Lovato had goals as the Marin Academy boys soccer team battled Bishop O'Dowd to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

The Wildcats (13-3-1), currently ranked No. 1 in the North Coast Section by Maxpreps.com, and Bishop O'Dowd, ranked ninth, are two of the top programs in the Bay Area.

MA continues to challenge itself with a road game against Jesuit on Monday. Jesuit is the topranked team in the Sac-Joaquin Section.

Girls soccer

Josie Quinby netted a natural hat trick within the first half hour as Terra Linda steamrolle­d to a 7-0 victory against Lincoln on Saturday. Quinby scored in the 15th, 24th, and 27th minutes for TL (9-4-1), with Rashell Diaz providing assist on the first two.

Diaz got her third

assist of the half on a goal by Kylie Depillo in the 30th minute. Quinby and Diaz then switched roles with Quinby assisting Diaz twice to make it 6-0. Katherine King capped the scoring in the 76th minute.

Four different players scored as Marin Catholic defeated Internatio­nal 4-0 on Saturday. Sloane Carey, Ava Korich, Kate Batdorf, and Lea Gorham found the back of the net for MC (101-3). Alina Franchetti, Gorham,

Molly Stewart, and Caroline McCarty had assists. Goalie Finn Seymore had her 13th shutout in 14 games this season.

Prep wrestling

Alexander Berkowitz won his bracket at 140 pounds at the Redwood Empire Classic in Ukiah on Saturday. The Giants also got strong performanc­es from Ali Hamzia, who took third at 134 pounds, and Todd Suko, who lost in the blood round at 159 pounds.
